Today marks the beginning of a strategic partnership between the Texas Scholastic Esports Federation (TexSEF) and Gameplan, promising to revolutionize esports education across Texas schools, with esports being the fastest-growing extracurricular activity in Lone Star State, with nearly 500 schools competing.
Under this new partnership, a variety of courses, including Introduction to Esports and Esports Management crafted by Texas Teachers, will be available through Gameplan. These courses are meticulously designed to align with TexSEF's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and to prepare students for the competitive world of esports and beyond.
This partnership ensures that all TexSEF member educators can access Gameplan, offering a rich blend of content, full platform features, and many free resources to schools across Texas, supporting TexSEF's mission to make esports a viable pathway to academic and career success and empowering schools to integrate esports into their curriculum seamlessly.
Gameplan shares TexSEF's vision of fostering a thriving and inclusive esports ecosystem in Texas. "We are excited to team up with TexSEF and support their mission to provide high-quality esports education to all students. We wanted to find a local partner for the Texas market that understands the needs of the districts, educators, and students. In Danielle and TexSEF, we have found just that." said Rasmus Sandström, CEO of Gameplan. “This partnership represents a significant leap forward in making esports education accessible and equipping Texas students with the skills to succeed in this rapidly growing field.”
TexSEF Executive Director Danielle Johnson also expressed her thoughts on the partnership: “TexSEF's collaboration with Gameplan marks a new chapter in our pursuit of educational excellence. Texas is the center of esports in the US. We’re excited to bring this industry knowledge into the classroom with our CTEsports curriculum. Not only do school esports programs raise attendance by an average of seven days per student– bringing in more ADA funds for the district, but the courses will eventually lead to what's called a Program of Study. Students enrolled in CTE courses and Programs of Study bring in additional funding for the schools."
